RECREATIONAL PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Run by program founder Sandi Rivera since 1974, YSI@GNV is the largest and fastest-growing youth co-ed recreational soccer program in the area!
Under the umbrella of Gainesville Soccer Alliance, the YSI@GNV program strives to have a positive impact on all of its players, in soccer and beyond!
PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT
As the longest-running, most popular recreational soccer program in north central Florida, YSI@GNV creates a structure in which kids of any soccer experience can participate on a team to learn skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, personal development, play in games and most of all…have FUN! Our hope for each player is they not only grow as a person but also develop a passion for the game that provides him or her with a lifetime of playing, watching and loving soccer.
SEASONS
There are two separate YSI@GNV seasons each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Each season is approximately 2 months in length. The fall season starts in September, while the spring season begins in April.
We use parent/volunteer coaches in our YSI@GNV program. These coaches will set their own practice times at specified locations around Gainesville. All games will be held at GNV’s Jonesville Soccer Park on weekends (mostly Saturdays).
Often, out-of-town teams who are interested in participating are added to our game schedules.
PRACTICE/GAME DAYS
Practice days, times, and locations will vary for our YSI@GNV teams. We utilize only volunteer coaches, and the practice schedules will be set by them.
Please note the following:
Teams practice twice weekly
Games are played on weekends
U15 and U16 games are occasionally played on Friday evenings
Some weekends include Saturday and Sunday games

Our teams are run by volunteer coaches, including parent coaches. Anyone interested in coaching a team should email ysi-rec@gainesvillesoccer.org

Divisions are based on birth year:
2020-2019: U6 Teams
2018-2017: U8 Teams
2016-2015: U10 Teams
2014-2013: U12 Teams
2012-2009: U16 Teams
Playing in YSI@GNV does not require a tryout.

COST
U6-U8 $149 per season
U10-U16 $175 per season
This price includes all training, facility, association, insurance fees, and a game jersey.
Parents furnish black shorts/socks for games and shin guards/cleats for all practices and games.
There are no additional fees.
Registration for the Spring 2025 Season is closed. Please, contact Sandi Rivera for any roster availabilities.
Registration for the Fall 2025 Season will open this summer.
